A filter is a collection of limitations to the table fields for allowing users to restrict display results by building one or more queries. Labii ELN & LIMS allows users to create filters for any table within the platform.
We have covered how to use filter functions here. This documentation is focused on how to manage the filters as an administrator.
There are 2 ways to access filters for a particular table: From record list view
Click “filters” from sidebar to the left or the navbar to the top
Select “My xxx Filters” or “All xxx Filters”
From settings
Click the menu icon top right of the page
Select Settings

Choose a table from the list; example experiment table.

Filters for a particular table can be viewed and managed from the filter list view On the filter list view for the experiment table, the following fields are:
Name - The name of the filter; example “To be witness experiments”
Query - Query is in JSON format and use an array for OR operator
Users - Members in the organization that you’d also like to use this filter and your name will be added automatically
Show in Menu - Default is set to true and it will be shown on the menu. Mark false to hide a particular filter from the menu.
Is Archived - Ability to archive particular filters and will not be available to use if the box is checked
Table - Shows the table associated with the filter
You can edit the fields if it has a pencil icon to the right of a field. For example, you can edit the Name field by clicking the pencil icon to the right, update the name and click submit.
Add Filter - click here to add a new filter (as mentioned above)
My Filters - click here to see the filters you only have access to or created yourself
Filters - Click here to see all the filters related to the experiment table
Active/Archived Filters - Click here to view all active and archived filters within the organization
Experiment - Click here to see an overview of the experiment table; ability to make edits here as well
Columns - Click here to view all the columns associated with the experiment table
Sections - Click here to see the sections for the experiment table. Sections are the modules of a document and use sections to insert different types of data. A section holds the data for a widget for one particular record
Workflows - Click here to see if there are any workflows related to the experiment table. Also can add workflow; A workflow consists of an orchestrated and repeatable pattern of activity enabled by a systematic organization of resources into processes that transform materials, provide services, or process information.
Tables - Click here to see all the tables associated with an organization
Record (Experiment) List - Click here to a list of records that matched to the filter

“+” - Click to create a new filter (the same function as the “add filter” on the sidebar)
Search - Click the “search” icon to quickly find a specific filter

Starting at 10 up to 2000 per page
To see an overview of a particular filter:
Navigate to the filter list view (experiment table) using the method above
Click on the name of a particular filter; “it will be in blue font indicating you can click to see more.”
For example, click on “My Experiments” filter name and here are the overview fields for the “My Experiment” filter (note - the fields below can be updated without leaving the page by clicking the pencil icon to the right of each field):
Name - The name of the filter
Description - Provide a description of the filter and all other necessary information to help others in the same organization understand what this filter is for
Query - Query is in JSON format and use an array for OR operator
Users - Members in the organization that you’d also like to use this filter and your name will be added automatically
Digest Frequency - How often do users want to receive the digest email for the filter; The default is set to weekly but can change it to none, daily, monthly, or annually.
Show in Menu - Default is set to true and it will be shown on the menu. Mark false to hide a particular filter from the menu.
Is Archived - Ability to archive this particular filter and will not be available to use if marked true
Date Updated/Created - Automatically captured in the background of Labii ELN & LIMS in real-time when changes are made by members within an organization

Table (experiment) - Click here to see an overview of the experiment table; ability to make edits here as well
Tables - Click here to see all the tables associated with an organization
Experiment List - Click here to see all the experiments within an organization as a list view

Reports - Click here to run reports based on time, personnel, or projects. For example, run a report based on time to see how many new experiments were created within the last three weeks
