# Signature

## Overview

The Signature category provides section widgets for managing electronic signoff workflows directly within Labii ELN and LIMS records. These widgets help laboratories control authorship, witnessing, ordered approvals, and rejection-based corrections while keeping the signature trail attached to the same record as the underlying work. They are especially useful in Good Laboratory Practice and FDA 21 CFR Part 11-style workflows where document locking, signer identity, and audit-ready approval history must remain explicit. Use this category when record-level approval needs to happen in context rather than through a separate external signing process.
