Equipment scheduling involves the systematic organization and allocation of laboratory or research equipment based on predetermined time slots or reservations. This method optimizes resource usage by ensuring equitable access, minimizing conflicts, and enhancing operational efficiency within the lab. By implementing scheduling systems, labs can streamline workflow, reduce downtime, and maximize the use of costly equipment, ultimately fostering a more productive and collaborative environment while enabling better planning and coordination of experiments or research activities.
Labii has created a Scheduling widget that lets users effortlessly arrange equipment usage through a calendar interface. Additionally, users can directly schedule equipment within an experiment using the Record List By ForeignKey widget.

Labii has developed three convenient methods for scheduling equipment usage:
Manual Scheduling: To schedule equipment manually, navigate to the equipment detail view and click "Add equipment usage" at the bottom of the Scheduling section. This action will open a form where you can specify which experiment will use the equipment, who will be using it, and the desired usage time.
Calendar-Based Scheduling: Alternatively, you can schedule equipment usage directly from the calendar view on the equipment detail page. Simply select an available time slot, and a form will automatically appear with pre-filled information about the user and the intended usage time.
Scanning-Based Scheduling: When planning experiments, you often find yourself on the experiment detail page. With Labii's scanning function, you can conveniently schedule multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.
By default, scheduling the same equipment doesn't permit conflicts. To enable conflicts, set the "Should allow conflict" option to true within the Scheduling widget.
By default, users with edit permissions can modify others' schedules. If you wish to restrict changes to only the owner's schedule, set "Should Limit Edit to Owner" to true in the table properties.
Utilize the Scheduling widget to schedule various resources such as meeting rooms. Just insert the widget into your room record and set up a room usage table—the scheduling feature will be good to go.
