Perform the operations in batch

Overview

A batch operation is a function or a method that processes multiple records in a single operation. Labii Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) supports the batch operations at the list view.

To get started, go to the list view, select one or more records, and the batch operation buttons will appear.

Bulk edit

If the requirement is to modify multiple records simultaneously, the Bulk Edit function can be utilized. This feature allows you to make changes to multiple fields across multiple records all at once. To do that:

1. Choose which records you wish to edit by clicking the checkboxes, or click the top checkbox to select all.

2. Then click "Bulk Edit".

3. On the new window, provide the values to the fields you wish to update.

4. Make sure to click Clear for those fields with green background and you do not want to update.

5. Press Submit and you will see the progress bar update.

Bulk print

You can print each record detail as well as labels, barcodes, and QR codes in bulk using Labii. The printing interface consists of a configuration panel on the left and a preview on the right.

You can save printing settings by clicking Save as default. Default settings can be saved for a specific individual or for an entire organization. After saving, the default settings will load once the same page is opened. The setting priority:

1. URL query. The parameters can be passed into the URL query. To set the width to 100, use the following URL: http://www.labii.app/print/barcodes/?width=100

2. My personnel default. Your settings will be saved and applied to yourself. Other users will not be affected.

3. Organization default. The settings will be applied to all users in the entire organization. Those users without saved personnel configurations will use the defaults in the organization.

Bulk print detail

If you need to print more than one record at the same time, use bulk print detail. The bulk print opens the Print View for all selected records. Please make sure to disable the pop-out block.

To do that:

1. Select one or more records

2. Click the Bulk Print button

3. Select Bulk Print item

Bulk print labels

If you need to prepare the labels for all selected records, use the bulk print label.

To do that:

1. Select one or more records

2. Click the Bulk Print button

3. Select Label item

Bulk print barcodes

Use this function to print barcode in batch. To do that:

1. Select one or more records

2. Click the Bulk Print button

3. Select Barcode item

Bulk print QRcodes

Use this function to print QR code in batch. To do that:

• Select one or more records

• Click the Bulk Print button

• Select QR code item

Cap label

Labii supports cap labels as well. A cap label is a QR code that can be attached to a tube cap.

To enable the cap label, check Should display cap label to include the cap label. Here are a few parameters to configure cap label:

• Cap label position. Please the cap label at the left or right of the tube label.

• Cap code margin. Cap code margin. You can use it to reduce the size of the cap code. See the picture below for details.

• Cap gap. The distance between the cap label and the tube label in pixels.

Bulk download

The PDF file of the selected records can be downloaded.

To do that:

1. Select one or more records

2. Click the Actions button

3. Select Bulk download item
