Application Permissions

Employing permissions judiciously allows for tailored access control, ensuring that individuals or teams only utilize applications relevant to their roles or responsibilities.

Overview

Application permissions are crucial mechanisms that dictate access levels within Labii, delineating which users or teams can interact with specific applications. Employing permissions judiciously allows for tailored access control, ensuring that individuals or teams only utilize applications relevant to their roles or responsibilities. For instance, granting Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) permissions solely to those requiring ELN functionalities, while reserving Customer Relationship Management (CRM) permissions for the business development team, optimizes operational efficiency and security by restricting access to pertinent applications. By delineating permissions, organizations can streamline workflows, bolster data security, and enhance overall system governance.

Permission

By default, any newly created application is accessible to all active Labii users. If you wish to restrict access to the application, navigate to the Permission tab of the application and either add a new permission or remove an existing one. Just like project permissions, users can assign permissions to either a team or an individual.

Currently, only the Write permission is available. Granting Write permission to a team or user enables them to view the application in the side menu and access its contents.
